Additional information
Im Archiv des Kunsthistorischen Museums Wien ist ein Foto, auf dem auch zwei andere Gewehre abgebildet sind, vorhanden (KHM-Archiv, XV 1777).
Das Gewehr wurde zwar nach 1945 formal restitutiert, 1947 jedoch als "Widmung" für die Waffensammlung (später Hofjagd- und Rüstkammer) des Kunsthistorischen Museums Wien angefordert (BDA-Archiv, Restitutionsmaterialien, K. 51-1, M. 7, Zl. 5786/47, fol. 17–29) und dort inventarisiert.
1999 erfolgte die Restitution und die Versteigerung bei Christie's, London (Lot 83).
